Tomorrow is BabyGirl's 6th birthday. She wanted stuff for her baby dolls since Bitsy is coming (they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery). I picked up some doll clothes & a bottle set at the store last week and wanted to get her a diaper bag for her babies. The only ones Wal-Mart carried were made of clear plastic & I knew they would be very short lived at our house.
Tonight I decided (at 5 pm) that I would just make her one. I also made her a tiny burp cloth to match (that's it hanging over the side of the bag). I am proud of this project for the following reasons: 1. I had no pattern, so I made one. 2. It's made entirely out of scrap material left over from a baby blanket I made a few years back. 3. It's sort of quilted & I've never done that before.
I hope she likes it!

Such a sweet little bag for your kiddo. She'll love it. (And I am ever so impressed that you designed it all on your own.)
very very cool!!
That is soo precious!!!
Well I think it is awesome and I am so impressed that you did it with a pattern you made your very own self. I am in awe at your sewing ability. Do you give online lessons ;)?
I just bought a pattern for a blouse with the grand intention of re-teaching myself to sew from a pattern. So far I've stared blankly at the material and the pattern and put it away. Soon I may attempt it. I may be emailing you for pointers ;)
she will absolutely love it..As do I FW..You are so talented and blessed.
It is sooo awesome!! You are one talented lady! I want to learn how to sew and make cute things like this, too. But i don't think I'll ever be able to make my own pattern. Ha, that is IF i ever learn to sew. So many projects, not enough time!
You should consider making these and posting them on etsy or another of those websites that sell handmade goods!
I think they would sell well! : .)
HBD to BabyGirl!
Thanks ladies! BabyGirl LOVES it. She's packed it around constantly since she got it. And it turned out just big enough to double as a doll carrier for her new CPK.
I've been so busy, I haven't been here in a while. The bag is wonderful. I love the appliques. I'm intimidated by my sewing machine and do it all on my fingers. This is great!
Any tips on how to make it? My niece wants one and I can't find a pattern anywhere. :) Fantastic job!
This is absolutely adorable. Do you still have the pattern you created to make this? I would love to make one for my 3 year old. I have looked all over and this is by far the best one I've seen for little girls.
