Did you ever need a little nudge, a little kick in the pants?.... A little pull, a little push, To rid yourself of "I can'ts?" Do you need to have your engine revved, Your tires pumped up with air, Your horn tooted by someone 'cept you?.... Well, Congratulations! You're there!...Cate

an announcement
Actually it's just a name plate that I sent to my friend who just had a baby as a surprise. I couldn't afford to buy a second baby gift but I wanted to do something to welcome the little guy into the world so I drew this to match her nursery stuff. Of course the real one has the other vital information on it, but for their privacy (even though I don't think they'll ever look here) I left all that off. Plus, it had been a while since I posted (a non-contest entry) to nudge nudge... so this is the kind of thing I've been up to recently.

And We Have a Winner...
Cath stopped by yesterday to see all the wonderful entries in the Punny Valentine contest. She was amazed to see how clever you all were, and I was so proud to be showing her that my friends were so funny and cute.
She thought they were so good that there should be more than one winner, but I told her she was going to have to pick just ONE. It took her awhile, but in the end she chose Ragged's "I love you a hole punch."
So Ragged, Congratulations! I'll be e-mailing you to get your address (which I had but can't find).
And to everyone else, you were wonderful! Thank you all so much. I think we need to do something to inspire us to post here more often. Anyone got any ideas?

Punny Valentine Contest Over (Until Next Year)
Thanks to everyone who entered. I loved the entries that you submitted...so much so that I'm going to have to ask Cath to come by and help me pick a winner. She'll be my completely impartial judge.
I just want you to know that you made my week. I was anxious to turn the computer on every morning and I checked it every night before I went to bed. I kept being blown away by how funny, and creative, and cute, and smart you all are.
Cath is snowed in this morning, but hopefully she'll be out and about this afternoon. As soon as she stops by I'll post the winner
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED!

Save the Date
Hey there...I realize this isn't Valentine-y...or punny for that matter...but I thought I would post a scan of the save-the-date for the wedding.
The cards are 6" x 4.25". I am making our invitations out of 12x12 sapphire stardream cardstock. The invitations will be 6"x6" square folders with an enclosure pocket on the inside left panel. The save-the-dates were made from the scrap left from the 12x12 cardstock once I folded and cut it all to size.
I printed the save-the-dates, invitations and response cards in dark chocolate brown ink all on one sheet of cream paper and cut them all to size as well. The lobster is a stamp I found at a local craft store...although I realize now, I could have just printed it myself on the paper. :)

A Very Short Contest for Valentines Day
I'd like to invite everyone to participate in a contest.
Remember last year when we were so big into puns, let's try it again, but this time let's open it up a little and have funny poems too.
I invite you to make a punny valentine or a funny poem valentine. Doesn't matter who you want to make it for, but put it on Nudge-Nudge, and let me know when you do.
If the same puns are posted, and I doubt they will be, the one who posts first gets credit.
Definite points for originality, and for creativity. Pictures, pop-ups, collage, scrapbooking etc., the sky's the limit.
You have seven days. All entries must be in by Valentines Day.
I'll let you know the day after who has won, and YES, there will be snail mail prizes!!!
P.S. If you don't belong to Nudge-Nudge, I'll ask Madretz to put a note on Nudge-Nudge about how to join.
