Juliana's 2nd Birthday Invitations

I suppose that since I've sent them out I can now post Juliana's invitations (with blurred contact information):
In case you can't read it, the trail following the butterfly and says: 'With love and laughs the time, it flew. Now sweet Juliana is turning 2'

This is undoubtedly in the category of "prettiest birthday invitations ever." I'd love to know how you did it.

It's even cuter in person. Baby Bear keeps asking to hold "June-nah-nah's pictures".

nan- I use a cheap program that's 7 years old called Microsoft Picture it Publishing.
Here's the long explanation:
I added circles one at a time and changed them to the size and color I wanted until they filled the page and then I made them sort of transparent. I added 3 opaque circles of different sizes to put the pictures in later, and I cut the centers out of them so that they could border the pictures. I found clip art of a butterfly and free hand colored it in. I thought of the little saying and inserted the text in chunks so that I could bend it. I filled the text with a color gradient and highlighted the edges. I added the number 2 and added a color gradient and highlighted the edges on it too. I added the pictures I wanted and cut them to fit. I had to move them behind the layers of the opaque circles. And I added the text for the party information. Then I saved the file as a .jpg and had them printed on 4x6 photo paper. I cut the card stock border so that it would fit in a 4.75 x 6.5 envelope (which by the way, these envelopes sizes are hard to find. I had to order them). I used a whole puncher to make 2 holes at the top of the invitation, I cut the ribbon and threaded it through the holes to make a bow. Did you catch all that? Oh yeah, and I affixed the photo to the card stock via glue dots.
I wish I had photoshop (and a computer that could support it)... I'm sure that the whole process would have been much less complicated.

When I cleaned my desk yesterday I came across my copy of Picture It... now I need to install it on this computer and get playing with it. I may be calling my sis for tips.

My biggest tip is don't have too many things open at once or the program may just randomly close on you. It's not exactly the greatest.

Very cute, love your first page line. And I agree with Nan, it is very pretty and matches that tutu below really well too. :)
